Our Board of Directors and Our Officers

We have on our Board of Directors experts in organizational management. We also have on our Board MDs who are experts in the following fields: the diagnosis and treatment of stroke, the causes of brain cell death, the delivery of medical care in the ER, the long term treatment of patients with stroke/ head injury/ and spinal cord injury, and the psychological and pharmacological treatment of the minds and emotions of victims.

Dr. Brij M. Singh, MD, is a past President of the Westchester/Connecticut Division of the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association, and is currently Director of the Neurology Department at New York Medical College. He is also currently in charge of the diagnosis and treatment of hospitalized stroke patients as Director of Neurology for the Westchester Medical Center Hospital.

Dr. Jose A. Luchsinger, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Medical School, and is a world expert on aging of the brain, the death of brain cells, and dementia.

Robert H. Schor, JD, MA, Chairman of the Board, and President of the Association, was a former government executive, and was President of his own consulting company in international trade. He also practiced law in the field of international trade.

Lily Schor, MSW, CSW, Vice President of the Association, was former Unit Chief of a unit in the Department of Corrections, providing psychological services to inmates in a prison setting.

Leslie Schor, BA, Secretary, is the production supervisor of the animation department of a major film production company.

Dr. Mark Schor, MD, Treasurer, is a Board Certified Psychiatrist, and is medical chief of the Survivors of Torture Clinic at NYU Hospital, and is in private practice with a specialty in Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome.

Dr. Kenneth Coburn, MD and MPH, was Director of the Aids Clinic at Montefiore Hospital, NY, and was Director of the University of Pennsylvania HMO, and is currently founder and CEO of his own company that performs for Medicare research in the quality of patient care and in the quality of medical treatment in hospitals.

Dr. Joshua Schor, MD, was Director of the Geriatric Department, Beth Israel Hospital, Newark, NJ, and is currently medical director of a 300 bed hospital for the treatment and long term care of patients with Alzheimer's, brain damage, spine damage, and stroke.

Dr. Asher Aladjem, MD, is a Director of Psychiatry at Bellevue Hospital, and is a Professor of Psychiatry at New York University Medical School providing education in and clinical supervision of the psychiatric care and treatment of psychologically challenged populations.
